Solar power control and optimization
Pörssiohjain combines solar production monitoring, kW-based device control, production notifications, heat pump actions, and solar panel angle planning.

Control loads by solar production
A production source can be linked to a Shelly device or another relay channel. The rule can turn the load on or off when current solar production rises above or drops below a selected kW threshold.
Use heat pumps and notifications
Heat pump rules can set a mode or temperature from production conditions. Notifications can alert the user when solar output reaches a useful level for charging, heating, or other flexible consumption.
What is a production source?
In Pörssiohjain, a production source represents your own electricity production, such as a solar inverter or production meter. The view shows current kW, peak kW, and production history.
The same source can drive automation rules. For example, when production is above 2.0 kW, a relay can start a suitable load. When production falls below a threshold, another rule can stop it or notify you.
1. Add a source
Define the name, API type, timezone, and credentials. Supported production source types include Shelly and Sofar SolarmanPV.
2. Link a device
Choose the device, channel, action, comparison, and production threshold. The rule can switch a load on or off.
3. Add alerts or heat pump rules
Production notifications can be limited by time and kW value. Heat pump actions can store a production-based state or temperature setting.
Solar panel angle planning
Pörssiohjain also includes a solar angle planner for users with an adjustable or automated solar panel stand. It calculates the recommended target tilt and azimuth from latitude, longitude, timezone, current tilt, current azimuth, and movement tolerance.
The planner shows whether the panel should tilt up, tilt down, turn clockwise, turn counter-clockwise, or hold position. The same recommendation can be requested through an API, so a custom controller can move the stand only when the angle difference is large enough.
Example solar production rules
- check_circle A Shelly relay starts a load when solar production exceeds the selected kW threshold.
- check_circle A heat pump switches mode or temperature when enough solar power is available.
- check_circle A notification tells the user when production is suitable for EV charging or another flexible load.
Two ways to improve solar yield
Production-based controls help consume your own solar electricity when it is being generated.
Angle planning helps an adjustable stand face the sun more accurately, either manually or through a controller that polls the recommendation API.
